NPDC wants feedback on proposed rate rises over next decade

NPDC is consulting on its draft 10-Year Plan and wants public feedback on proposed rate rises of 4.2%, on average, over the next decade.

The draft 10-Year Plan is the proposed work programme for 2018-2028 and how much it will cost. NPDC is currently asking the community for feedback on the draft plan via a three-minute survey.

There are four big issues: Water Resilience, Zero Waste 2040, should we commit to a Flagship Project and if we do, how should we fund them? The fourth issue is: What Else? What have we missed or what other great ideas does the community have?

NPDC has strong financial management which has been endorsed by independent financial services company Standard & Poor’s, which has reconfirmed our AA/A-1 rating; the highest possible for a council in New Zealand.

To tell NPDC what you care about and your preferred options in the 10-Year Plan, go online to newsplymouthnz.com/10Years or pick up the draft Consultation Document at your nearest library.

You can also fill in the three-minute feedback form at the NPDC Roadshow at the Taranaki Home & Lifestyle Expo at the TSB Stadium this weekend.
